What's your view to the DFA 28-105 ?

Yes Stuart, the 5th one is at 105mm and F5.6 .... It was one of a few I took specifically to test out the close focusing and bokeh qualities, and I was mightily impressed with both, considering it's not a macro lens.

The first portrait (the HSS flash one) is at 105mm and F6.7. I usually stop down a touch for portraits just to be sure of getting the eyes as sharp as possible. So long as you stand back and zoom in then you get great OOF and smooth backgrounds, and you don't need widest aperture for that anyway.

I think it's a fabulous lens. It certainly has something a bit special considering it could be considered a kit lens. Beautiful, colours, sharp wide open and very good bokeh. Very close to my DA 70 for rendering.

I use mostly the 15-30 or 28-70 on mine, sometimes I wish there was something like a modern iteration (and better built) 24-90 then I would have fewer crises what to take with me without breaking my back...The Nikkor 24-120 f4 is a great example of an FX walkaround lens.
