I think I need a hood for my 35-70 SMC F Zoom but I am not sure what to get. I have a Hoya adjustable for my 18-55 but don't like keep having to take it off when I want to put the lens cap on. Any suggestions please

Thanks

Les

I like the collapsible rubber lens hoods from eBay, as they protect the front of the lens. They screw into the 49mm filter thread and if you have a clip-on cap it will clip into the metal ring of the hood. An eBay search for 49mm rubber lens hood will bring up lots of them at no more than a £ or two.

Another vote for rubber hoods - use them on everything except the 10-20 Sigma for a raft of reasons (cheap, difficult to damage, easy to adjust, doesn't hurt anyone if you run into them )
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

And you have the (hopefully) undamaged originals when you want to sell the lens
