What Knowledge Level Do You Have?

I just gave my vote: Moderate becoming better, but I'm not so good at post processing... just the base level.
I'm quite comfortable with RAW and manual settings, but I use LightRoom just for small retouching (WB adjustment, cropping, exposure compensation etc).

I think there are many people coming from analogue that are pretty good in photo composition and can squeeze a lot from their camera, but they could have some problem in post processing. How should they vote ?

Current overall level, that was my intention anyway.

I would place myself just above average, still have a lot to learn but technology comes quite easily to me and I've a small degree in arts.
With just asking questions here you learn a lot, so much knowledge wanders around this forum.

Who was brave enough to vote for Exceptional level of knowledge?

I like to think of the old saying "I know enough to fill a book, what I dont know would fill the rest of the library"

Going with gut instinct I've opted for 'Moderate, becoming better'.

Perhaps we ought to have other forum members cast their vote in a secret ballot for each of us. That way we will find out how we are perceived from a photo knowledge and capability point of view

When it comes to shooting, composition etc. then I'm fairly competent.

PP on the PC though, that's a different matter.

I don’t know which level i am but remember when started this hobby approx 20% of my shots were test shots. I mean shots taking not for nice pictures but for trying, experimenting and in this way learning a certain issue of photography. Now, fifteen years later this share is probably more than 80%. Could it be other than development?

It sounds like you are doing just fine KZ! Trying things out is the only way to make real progress.

Have gone for fairly well informed, although am conscious photos could be better and my technical knowledge is slipping as the years advance...

I've gone for Moderate, as there are loads of techniques I have never even tried.

John, just a basic beginner, have got the teach yourself photography type manual. Tend to point & shoot and then see what it looks like. Sometimes I have an idea of what I'm after and occasionally it works.

I would have thought that anyone who regularly reads this forum would be , by default, at least fairly well informed.

I work in a camera shop, so have to have a very detailed knowledge of all areas of photography, (always get one customer who will try and trip you up)when you do any job 6 days a week your knowledge base expands very quickly. Dave

What Is 'photo knowledge'?

Is it dreaming the picture?
Is it seeing the picture?
Is it feeling the picture?
Is it capturing the picture?
Is it adjusting the picture?
Is it presenting the picture?
Is it capturing the feeling in the picture?

Is it all of these or some or none?

Is this a load of twaddle?
