Love the texture mix of the second last pic and the vibrancy, and great leading lines in the last one. It does well b&w. Looks bloody cold!

Thanks for the comment.
The 'tree and fern' picture was purely by accident. I took several shots of the daffodil head and accidentally loosened the tripod head too much. The camera tilted downwards and happened to frame this almost exactly. I had Liveview on and noticed it, recomposed it and hand held the flash and diffuser in different positions until I found the best angle. This was straight from the camera just saved as a jpg via PSE. I love the colours and texture in the wood.
It was bloody cold. I need to find some gloves with a single finger and thumb tip missing. It took and hour for my hands to warm up.

A happy accident then! I dub it 'burl amongst ferns' I actually prefer it to the daffodil picture if you don't mind me saying. It's not that it's a bad picture, I just feel like you see quite a lot of daffodil pictures amongst any photography community.

tobinobin, you're quite at liberty to prefer anyone you like.
Unfortunately I was limited for colourful subject matter on that day to what I found in my back garden. So the daffodil just had to be included.
Stuey. Glad you like them

It was snowing, blowing and bl**dy freezing so I naturally went down the beach to see just how rough it was:
Taken with DA*16-50, polariser and 0.6 ND Grad
After getting wet feet, a sandy tripod, spray covered filters and even colder I beat a retreat to the warmth of home.
Enjoy
