First Five Days

Hey, I'm just here to share some of the photographs I've taken over the first five days of owning my first DSLR: the K-30 and 18-55mm wr lens. I'd love some feedback from you guys on these. Here they are:

Nice set, especially like the second and fourth.

Number 5 one seems to have a bit of a processing halo on the roof?

Yeah, the glow on the roof seems to be from clumsy brush use, when I tried to increase the exposure solely on the boat house. I'll fix this, thanks for pointing it out. Thanks for your comments

I like these - last one is my favourite

Its great start, like the angle of views you chosen, and there are definate signs your going to enjoy the create possibilities both in use and post processing.

CC wise, shooting under harsh light can be a challenge, and a shooting directly into the sun something to be very wary of. Burned out patches and black underexposed patches where even the great dynamic range of the sensor is not gonna help you bring back detail. Try exposure bracketing, or picking up some filters, and always use your lens hood. Though 3 is my favorite even with the sun flare

Some definite promise here. As Sean says, you have given yourself some very stiff challenges with the lighting you have chosen to shoot, but you've managed it rather well. My favourite? The third one, although I would be tempted to clone out the wires.

@Dodge - I'm not sure what CC is, but I understand what you mean with it being a challenge. I'll look into filters, and perhaps not always having to include the sun in my shots. I'm also planning on buying a tripod to allow for exposure bracketing and HDR. So many things to buy!

@David - It's a bit mince that there's this telegraph pole in the middle of an idyllic Trossach's field, but how would I go about editing it out in lightroom? There's spot removal, but I didn't think that would look up to scratch. Is cloning a photoshop tool?
