What??

Went to a local auction preview this morning and, in a box together with a ME Super and odd Pentax lenses, were some other very unusual lenses.
They were fairly large and substantial screw-in lenses with normal glass each end but when one looked down the tube there was one strange element with a large elliptical shape moulded into it - rather like the shape of a human eye.
Little in the way of annotation on the lenses to suggest what who or why other than the word ISO on each. Nothing to suggest whether they are recording or projection lenses.
Anyone any idea what they might be used for?
