Weird Little Pixels

Take another shot and see if the little pixels are in the same place, with out seeing a photo it's difficult to say.
Could be dead pixels on the sensor which means you could try a remap with the pix/remap found in the menues on the K20D.
Could do with a photo to be sure.

It would be interesting to know if the remapping works. Please let us know, Pauly.

I used the pixel mappin' feature already and i've taken a 20 second exposure of my kitchen in low light and there are now no more dead/ stuck pixels in the image.
I've heard on review sites that these pixels move around.
The last time I used the camera was two days ago in London, and the shots from that shoot were free of any pixel problems. So how do they come to be there jus' like that in tonights images?!
BTW, sometimes I am a pixel peeper!

paul if you change your memory card over or reformat it , it has to be redone, if you do it then put the card in the computer there should be some extra files,(in my case 6) so you have to do it for all the cards.

Temporary hot pixels can sometimes appear with any digital camera when the sensor becomes warm. This can happen particularly during long exposures, or after the camera has been used heavily for a long time.I used the pixel mappin' feature already and i've taken a 20 second exposure of my kitchen in low light and there are now no more dead/ stuck pixels in the image.

By the way, Silkypix Developer Studio usually automatically removes hot/stuck pixels from RAW images.

Is my camera on its way out? Is it somethin' to worry about in the future, has my camera's image quality been degraded slightly as a result of interpolation through the pixel mappin' process?

I would only worry if there were a lot of stuck/dead pixels (permanent), or if hot pixels (temporary) were frequently appearing on normal-length exposures.
Cameras do become more susceptible to the problem as they get older and more used, but no K20D is very old!
The mapping process should only affect the image at the site of the dodgy pixels, so that's only a tiny weeny amount of interpolation/degradation. Anyway, only use the process for stuck/dead pixels, not for hot pixels as they are only temporary.
Make sure you have the latest firmware installed (1.01) as there was a bug re hot pixels with the first. See DPReview.com. In fact DPR claimed there was a continuing problem with hot pixels even with the latest firmware with their test camera - but it's a not a problem I see often reported elsewhere, and I've yet to notice it with my K20D either (though I haven't had it long, and I use Silkypix). I did sometimes get hot pixels with my *ist DS and K10D, but only when I think the sensor literally got hot.

I did a 4 second exposure under fluorescent lightin' in my kitchen and it was OK.
I don't want to upload the picture 'cos my bedroom is a mess and my girlfriends underwear is everywhere. Sorry.
Thanks in advance
