Red pixels? That's the "bright/dark" area display which you switch on and off in the Playback menu. Tells you which parts of the photo are under/over exposed.

On the K10D:

Go to the Playback Menu
Go down to Playback Display
Press right
Press right again next to Bright/Dark area (tick should disappear)
Press MENU to exit

I'd imagine the K200D is similar if not exactly the same.

In my K20D it's in
Menu / Playback / Playback Display / Bright Dark Area

You should find it in the manual though - it's worth reading and getting back from time to time checking new things - I found it really useful (although not too versatile).
Kind regards,

The flashing is a warning that that part of the photo is over or under exposed to the extent of being pure white or pure black with no detail*. So it is useful to leave it on if you want to be informed.

When you get this warning, when possible and desirable, add some +/- EV compensation and take another shot.

Sometimes, for example, you may want to expose to preserve the highlights even if it means the shot overall is darker. Often the dark areas can be lightened with software on your computer without blowing the highlights.

* It may be with a RAW shot that some more detail has been captured than is being indicated, but still the flashing display is a useful warning, especially if you want to allow some leeway.
