hefty1: good lighting, interesting viewpoint. I would have liked the DOF to be a bit greater so the toast on the right had more in focus and maybe more contrast.
clarky: good colour, sharp, but lighting a bit flat. might have been helped by a coloured plate? maybe a different angle would have reduced the flash reflections on the plate that look burnt out.
niblue: no definition, DOF very shallow and not sharp, camera movement? shutter speed too slow? no colour so little clue as to what it is. (apart from the title)
daniel bridge: good DOF, great colour, focus is sharp. are those crumbs on the mat deliberate? wonderful image. 3rd place
amoringello: lovely light, great use of DOF, excellent composition, nice to see someone thinking laterally. 2nd place
browngo1: I likes it!, tighter cropping to exclude the plain white plate might be better. commended
pschlute: lovely colours, great sharpness, great contrast between colours and textures. Very nice. is this a composite? the height of the 3 fish seems a bit at odds with being laid on toast. my favourite and the winner,
Lilly: I'm afraid the newspaper is competing too much for my attention. otherwise a well executed image. good detail in the fish and bread.
Galoot: good colour, DOF is a bit off for me, the back of the toast is sharper than the front and I'd have preferred it the other way around.
Aunt Sally: great lighting, DOF and colour. good composition. you pinched Dan's knife? commended.
johnriley: good use of DOF, good lighting, good colour, lots of butter. commended
McBrian: nice interpretation, good light, good focus, good fun.
this was a tough job, there are several images that could have been the winner and it was hard to seperate them. I don't want to win again.... ok i do want to win, but i don't want to judge.
thanks for having me.

It has to be edible, the toast has to be visible and there has to be something on the toast as opposed to beside it. In the case of small food items like beans, there has to be more than 1.
The aim is to get my mouth watering.
get busy, the clock is ticking.
