My comment about my entry being handheld did not really relate to camera shake issues, since I chose a shutter speed to cover that point as davidtrout points out.
But it was windy and the real issue, standing on a windy shoreline was keeping the lens pointing at the relevant subject - I should have removed the lens hood to reduce the length and surface area
