Well it's gone midnight so you can all stop making my life more difficult by submitting such great entries!
I've been judging through the week but I need to tidy my notes etc so the judgement should be up in a couple of hours...

The results are up and congratulations to mikew for winning a hotly contested competition. Glad I don't win very often 'cos the judging is really hard!

Aiki, as requested this is how I might have tried to crop your photo:

I think the blue still dominates but not by as much, and the open spaces on the sides have now gone so the orange part of the picture becomes more important.
Others would probably do it differently and the blues could be toned down in Photoshop, but I've left your picture as you shot it just to show the difference a crop alone can make.

Thanks.
I learn sth in every day as well
I tried to make a close crop too, but I left the "orange" in center. It didnt work. The blossom was lost.
It works the way you did it !
I tried desaturating the rest of the pic (before the comp). But I didnt have a heart to let the lilac blue to disappear. Despite of not so orange result
Looking the colors of Davidtrout !!!mmmmm

Yes, a very high standard this week. Put me off my idea of popping into Debenhams to photograph the cosmetic counter assistants. Although I would have had won an award for the most orange picture !
