Certainly an original idea.

Having had the subject matter of "eyes" last week, I thought that "Love is........" was likely to produce some very similar images, hence my entry is love of a hobby.

Hyram - I think you must be psychic - I very nearly picked boats as the subject for the competition as last weekend my two kids sailed on their own for the first time! Not in an International 14 I hasten to add but in a Topper Topaz. Was your photo taken at Hayling Island Sailing Club by any chance? Steve

Amazing - you must be psychic to guess that.

We were sailing along at the bottom end of Chichester Harbour heading East away from Hayling Island Sailing Club, when the International 14 came past us.

Looking back through the records, I see that my wife also took some photographs of Toppers that day, but they were not quite as exciting

As well as 14's there are some scarily fast dinghies in Chi Harbour.

I am waiting to get a good shot of an International Moth sailing on its hydrofoils.

When I first saw the sunbject 'love is ...' I thought what a good idea but then I thought what would I take to enter and to be honest I was stumped beyond the obvious to me which were somewhat tacky.

It's not at all easy in fact, and I shall be very interested to see the flood of late entries!

I just remembered that I have a tripod and remote. I could have used my own arm in the picture but didn't. The arm model was very patient.

All the shots with the arm in focus just looked wrong. The image needs to show what is happening but the main focus is on the cat-o-twentyone tails. This works much better as you just get the soft background image of what is implied is going to occur.

I really need a second flash and softbox though as those shadows are nasty.
