Shot with the IIs and sigma 105, iso125 F5.6 1/200sec.
I just wanted to see how they looked with each treatment. To my eye #2 is the winner.
What do you folks think?

In number 2 the hoverfly really comes to life and has a lot of impact. Having said that, is the image slightly oversharpened? Could be my work monitor but looks like a bit of halo-ing around the leg (for example).
3 is the more natural looking image for me. Depends on your intention though.
Both of them are great though. Very impressive skills on show.

I agree totally with that Mate It does look oversharpened, I don't normally feel the need to apply much, or any,sharpening to the shots from the IIs. The image is a crop, not a heavy crop but a crop none the less so I was just trying out the different options I have available to see what, if any, difference's there was to the final output

#3 looks most natural while still having some impact. Great shot by the way.

It's difficult to tell at such a small size. It's between 1 and 3, 2 looks overcooked. My hunchometer tells me that 1 would stand up to close scrutiny the best.
