waterproof case for Kx?

been googling it and havent found much, anyone?
it's too go underwater so needs a really waterproof not weather resistant or so..

Try Ned Bunnell's blog, I think he listed something last year.

I think you'll find the cases veerrry expensive, and quite big. A friend of mine looked at them a year or so ago and settled on an Olympus or a Canon (can't remember) compact which was waterproof to several meters and much cheaper than the perspex box.

I notice the OP has a W80 already, so the WG-2 would be a logical upgrade for that.

How deep do you need to go?

Aquapac do a generic waterproof case for DSLRs. Still 95 quid or so though.
It is suitable for submersion up to 5 metres deep for 30 minutes.

You can e-mail them to check if it will fit the Kx but I am pretty sure it will.

So it does beg the question what will the Kx acheive under 5m of water that the W80 cannot


I think that was the one my friend looked at, but as I recall the price was £5-600.


Just a thought:-
A cheap plastic clamp type lunch box and duct tape to add additional sealing, then fire the camera with a IR remote (in a sealed bag)
Second thoughts - ballast?; pressure @ 5m?; is it worth it?

Sorry for late reply - the w80 is pretty bad, it's fun but I wouldn't print any of the shots - it's for surfing so don't need to go under 2m
