Tomorrow I plan to get creative. I doubt they will be as good as these.
I agree with you though, the addiction grows stronger by the minute with shots like this. You tend to lose a grip on reality in the pursuit of perfection!

I had seen a figure of a bird/cartoon character or something similar in the water, if you look at it turned the other way around, towards the glass, a tall figure, but now reading what you just meantioned it seems pretty clear now that the basketball player is clearer I had failed to try to visualise it with the back towards the glass, but soon you mentioned it I can clearly see it .

Do you use your flash on these? I've always fancied having a go at water drops but never seem to be able to make the time

There is no way you would be able to do this type of shot without using flash.

Is the built in flash any good for these as I don't have any plans to buy a flash any time soon. I'd rather invest in lenses at the moment.

These ones were all shot with off board flash. Didn't like very much the angle of the light when I used the built in flash.
But I have still been experimenting so can't really say if built in flash will give you similar or probably better results even.

The trick is experimenting, shoot a few, make a mess, preferably in a bathroom or a shed if you have one. AC is not essential but it does help, and then in the end make sure lady of the house doesn't go in and find the floor all in a messy state. At one time I was soaked to the roots of my hair with coloured water But all was fun

The droplet splashes - numbers 2 and 4 are my faves.

The splash in number 2 looks almost like crystal, and I love the red in number 4.

As for the glass shots, I'm afraid they don't really do anything for me - although it was fun seeing the basketball player!
