Water droplets

As far as the droplet shots are concerned, I think you've done a fantastic job with the timing and lighting, but I don't like the double reflections. Presumably you had a sheet of glass under the water, or something very reflective? Have you tried it with something matt?

Yes I tried with a dark surface but the water splashes come up very dark.

On these ones I purposely aimed for the reflections on the surface, that was the initial idea actually. They are just variations to see how they come up anyway, they give a totally different aspect to the simple water drops coming up.

Working the light on these reflections is really a headache, been trying various ideas and so far only few did manage to get them reasonably ok.
Some more ideas cooking and will be locking myself in the shed again soon

Will also try what you just mentioned, with a matt surface but I will have to compensate the lack of light that I won't be getting from the reflective surface through a different way

I you don't want to buy a flash then I suggest you do not try this work, unless you don't mind the dissapointment.
You have no real control from the built in flash and as it is direct you will get some horrible refections from the glasses.

I use my studio flashes for still life work as I have so much control over it.

It's a case of what's most important to you, lenses or a flash. With flashes coming in at a cheap price on ebay, I know what my choice would be.

Amin, what about using a sheet of perspex like the type used in still life tables. I used to use these and pop a flash underneath.

I think that would work. I tried with clear glass but it doesn't work well, so perspex might do the trick.

smoke bubbles and water are in the tweaking phases , moved on to wine glasses . They are the ones keeping me locked in the shed for longer hours, at least for now. Got to keep changing or else I will end up bored. Thought about fire but my home insurance doesn't cover it

Oh and by the way, I do once in a while get out of the shed to stretch my legs and usually end up with these friendly lot, they are my running partners in the club.

Tried getting some snaps the day I didn't fancy running so went with my DA*300, but I should have taken the DA*60-250 instead, it would have given me more control and I think I would have got some better shots.

This is where I feel that the AF just doesn't lock quick enough to get a good shot. Lighting wasn't bad at all on the day and these lot had already done 10 miles in the woods so they were not exactly flying by the time I got these shots. Focus doesn't look like spot on in all these images unfortunately.
