The mark you inflicted is not on the sensor Mike, but on the glass filter that sits in front of it. This is the part that is replaced in an IR conversion job so you are right, it'll be fine for the (potential) buyer's purpose.
How about a K10D with a small mark on the sensor?
Wouldn't make any difference as that would be replaced anyway I believe.

Do Advanced Camera Services modify K10Ds? They only list conversions of Pentax Ist on their website.
If they do conversions of the K10D, then I might be interested as well.

I emailled them the same question. Their response :-
"Good morning
Thank you for email. We can convert this camera (K10D), the cost of conversion will be £250.00 plus pp plus vat.

Preferably K10D/GX10 or a really cheap K20D.
After body only.
Not fussed about warranty, just as long as it works and is in good condition. Like i say the body will be converted to IR anyway and be given a full service, so what you got!!
