The VW badge is on the grill - just painted black to match

Very nicely done Gareth.
I am assuming that given the 30 second exposure, that the movement effect is entirely done by you in post processing/PS? When you said rigged, I had in my mind all sorts of fancy camera holding equipment on another car.
Creating the illusion of movement on the reflections on the car can't be easy!

Really like this shot Gareth. 👍👍
I nearly bought a G60 version in my youth but settled on a Golf Gti.
Now I'm all for comfort and economy. 😉

The movement is real and so is the fancy camera holding equipment Very nicely done Gareth.

Great technique and great result I was surprised about the 30 seconds as the background seems too distinct for that ....? Also, seeing the LCD on the camera there shows that there's not actually all that much cloning involved, much less than I expected there might be.
Do you take the shots with a remote control?
That first one has excellent light and makes full use of the shiny reflectiveness . I'd crop more from the left and bottom to bring the car even more 'In yer face'.

Nice one Gareth. I expect your mate will be very pleased with this.
Best wishes,

Well Gareth I'm impressed. I love the lighting (Now you are going to tell me there is a whole crew of lighting buffs with reflectors and everything!).
There is an awful lot of work going in to get the image. And still a lot of PS to remove the rig (?). But worth it!
Thanks for letting us see this - it's all an education for me!

Thanks all! No special lighting, just a C-PL to remove as much reflection as possible. If you saw the amount of adjustment brush editing pins where I have dodged and burned light though ... !
Yep, the camera is fired with a remote to avoid any camera shake and is mounted upside down so the pole then goes through the sky and not through the car, easier then to clone out.
