I voted for i-Berg, but it was hard to decide.

I'll set up a new competition later this evening. Time to cook dinner now, I'm starving.

Tony it was for me, if you made it into a B&W it would probably have looked more attractive.

Just to test it, what to do you think?
A bit over-sharpened I think but it gives you the idea.
The textures just come out so much more with monochrome.

Good point ,well made and YES - I agree - I suppose having been brought up on B/W film I always tend to opt for colour because of the warmth and vibrance I can usually get.

As always - thanks for the advice and the example - time to try more B/W methinks ...................

Regards

The only colour there is in the photo is that awful salmon pink
There was also some blueish tint of the metal and some gold....

okay you win, in colour but without the salmon pink.

Just see you have made your own B&W, it can just make the difference.
I should also use it more in my photos.

Congratulations to Gwyn. Well done - it was a crackin' shot. I knew as soon as I saw it, that my chances were nil. Dunno what it is about guitars, but you couldn't have nobbled the rest of us better unless you'd put up a photo of some drop-dead babe with her bits out. And I'm not referring to squirrels, before you ask!

I voted for I-Berg, but it was a close call between his shot and Gwyn's. I am happy to see that Gwyn voted for I-Berg too, because now I don't feel so bad, and believe I made the right choice. If it's good enough for Gwyn, the winner, then it was good enough for me!

Seriously though, after MUCH pondering, I voted for I-Berg's because I loved the atmosphere; the rust and cobwebs, the yawning composition - all very forlorn and unloved, but the badge itself gives a nostalgic contrast. Clearly that car WAS once loved, but now it languishes in hope. Very emotive.

Well done all.
Neil

Some others did as well end he ended quite high.
Makes me curious though since I didn't thought it would end that high, what was it that make you vote on his photo?

Stefan,

If I told you that, I would end up doing a critique on the various entries and then your new competition would be much the same as the existing competitions

p.s.
I had a slight hang up with the composition of Gwyn's entry. I can't say any more, because critique is not part of this competition

Hyram actually giving C&C is al right to give once the voting is closed and luckily for you they are so you can say what you want to say now about these entries

The difference between this and other competition is that the winner of last the theme isn't required to judge at all but if they feel they should then they can do that, no one is stopping them.
I do hope some healthy discussions about the entries would start though so that there is still feedback for the ones that entered.
