Using an M42 adaptor on a DSLR

I think this is a very good use for your GX10. I kept my K100 for the same purpose. Wrestling with the fiddly M42 adapter each time always seemed like an ideal way of introdusing dirt and dust into the camera, now I just leave it on.
The exposed contacts never occurred to me but I guess it could cause a problem in damp conditions.

Best wishes,

I don't think there should be any harm to the contacts. Just use an M42 body cap when it's not in use. You could always modify this with some plastic or felt to cover the contacts when it's on.

Since upgrading to a K30 I now have a GX10 not doing much.
I thought I might use it for my M42 lenses for a bit of fun, I am quite happy coping with the pre set aperture etc but what I am worried about are all the electrical contacts on the body being open to the elements.
Does there exist a collar which can go round to protect the contacts when in use or has anyone any experience of making something for the purpose?
Thanks in advance for any replies.
