Hi Maria,
I don't know anything about the K7 or its settings but with manual lenses on the k-r you change the f stops on the aperture ring on the lens.
I can't really help any further than that as I don't know if you have a 'green' button to stop down the lens and check exposure etc.

Maria, you can use the aperture ring in Manual and use the green button to set (roughly) the correct shutter speed. You need to make a couple of changes in the menu, but this only has to be done once:
USING M or K LENSES:
In the 'custom' menu:
'Using aperture ring' - set to 'permitted'.
'Green button in manual' - set to 'Tv Shift'.
USING M or K LENSES:

Hi Maria
You also need to use the camera in manual mode - once you have done as mentioned above move you dial around to 'M' - when focusing you will notice the focus confirmation light (bottom centre of the viewfinder) light up when in focus - if it is the same as the K10D onlt the central af sensor will work for the catch in focus though
Enjoy - when pressing the green button you may have to adjust thew exposure slightly - keep an eye on your histogram

Thanks for starting this thread Maria. I have jusr started using manual lenses and although had got some images was struggling and hadn't realised what the green button did but all becoming clear now

Thank you so much Nigel, i've just had a quick look at the first one and it gives some really easy step by step instructions, i'm going to study them properly later,looking forward to that! thank you again.
