Upgrading

I have been a Pentax user since my first DSLR. I was going to upgrade from my K10D to the K20D but have been attracted to the Nikon D90, anyone got any advice for me.

Welcome to the forum When you have a moment would you please update your location profile. My wife and I are ex Nikon user's and we looked at the D90 for my wife to replace her D100, the camera is good but the video side of it was in our opinion rubbish (for a better word.)
Anyway to cut a long story short she loved the feel and weight of my K20D and there for now has Pentax herself..

Thank you very much, the more I think abt it, will most likely stick with Pentax.

And you will have all of those old lenses!........you just can't beat old Pentax glass!....................Ken

Even though I have just upgraded to the K20D (arrived today) I am more in love with the DA* lenses, the K20D does'nt feel like a new camera, it just feels like my K10D That may change of course as soon as I put it through its paces and wonder what I ever did without 14 megapixels

If your on a budget I would suggest forgetting the Camera and invest in some nice glass, I've not even used mine yet and I already think theyre the best choice I ever made.

Years ago when digital SLRs were a rich mans toy (remember the Kodak/Canon hybrid that cost over £10,000?) I was given a Pro Nikon SLR to handle, the speed and near silence of the focusing almost made me drop Pentax there and then, fortunately funds were short so I stayed with the noisy slow to focus Pentax MZ7.
Well Pentax has come of age, because my new DA* lenses are every bit as quick and silent (if not quicker and quieter) than that Nikon I handled, which when you think about it means, Pentax have advanced considerably, Nikon have'nt, theyre still the same
