Without a doubt. K20 to K7, not really. KanythingolderthanK5 to K5 no brainer. K5 to KanythingnewerthanK5 debatable. Go for it.

I hate it when you lot beat around the bush!
OK, I'm on the hook. Can any of you give me some idea of the benefits I'm likely to notice?

Agree with all of the above... the k20 is a fantastic workhorse... strong, built like a tank, won't ever let you down... but iq wise, it's a big leap to the k5... particularly agree with DrOrloff re noise, dynamic range and low light performance... I took the same upgrade last year, and haven't regretted it...

Big upgrade in image quality when the going gets tough as well as some other features that are nice to have....much quieter shutter, much better live view implementation being two that spring to mind. I also prefer the handling and feel of the newer bodies, but that is very much a matter of taste.

K5 is a brilliant camera. I cannot fault it ( having moved from 35mm MZ5n ). No need for all the "latest" K5-II etc versions - including the "intermediate" K3; which should have been full frame in my opinion. I guess that will be the K1.......?

No the Full Frame will be called the K9 because it will be considered the absolute Dogs *******s.

The K5 was (is) the game changer, lower noise, wide dynamic range, the difference will be visible.

If it follows Pentax model naming convention any FF DSLR will be an 'A...' model.
'K' = King
'Q' = Queen
'A' would be Ace
