Just wanted to show how much you can under expose with the K30 and still salvage a shot! took this of my wife and daughter on mothers day using flash and it didn't fire, shot in raw with the M 28mm

That's a magic flash then! Sure looks like your image has burst into light. No bad noisy artefacts either, so very impressive performance. Just goes to show that if needed we can get that little bit of extra speed by setting a little underexposure ..... Just don't tell that to the ETTR advocates!

That's a terrific rescue job Malcolm and proves the worth of the K30, of which I'm a huge fan but the successful outcome here is probably mainly due to you shooting in RAW, I don't think you would have got away with it in JPEG, even with the K30.
Last year I had the opposite problem with my K30 - I took some photos in manual mode not realising it wasn't in my usual aperture priority mode and the pictures were extremely over exposed. I still managed to get usable images from the RAW files.

I was still very impressed with how i could pull this back from what i thought was a totally duff shot. for the first time i have a camera in the K30 that i don't feel i want to upgrade and i only paid £200 for it from a forum member.
