The photographer in that video uses Pentax (K200D,K30,K-x etc). He was inerviewed on this site...

For all the moaners and comparison list tickers Why would you need anything other than K-30 + old Pentax 50mm MF lens + pop-up flash + kicthen towel diffuser to take macros including focus stacked......

Ah Algi, why would anyone need anything at that rate. I actually wouldn't mind having a k30 for macro.
But the 50mm wouldn't be long enough for me. I'm already struggling to keep distance with the 105mm.
And it depends on where and what you're shooting for a pop up flash to be good enough. If you even have a pop up that is.
I know what i like, If not always why.

On one of his other videos (can't remember which one) he's using an clip on flashgun with an A4 clear plastic binder page with a sheet of tracing paper inside it. Looks ideal.

He's now got a Pentax with a fold out screen. It's not a K-1 though.
