Looking at the table of contents I don't expect to learn much. Seems more like a slr overview tailored for the K-1.

But I guess it could be helpful to fill
In the gaps for some.

I just learnt a useful thing from the comments beneath the video - namely, that you can toggle the function of the 4-way switch by using the small button immediately above it. So you can switch between using the 4-way to move focus point to adjusting white balance or setting continuous shooting very quickly. I hadn't picked up on that before.

The guy did a preview earlier this year, with some a couple of serious boo boos as well. Nice to see Pentax getting coverage. I personally do not like sloppy journalism. Sadly, that's the new standard across the board. He does have a valid point regarding the presentation of criticism. No reason to be rude to anyone while pointing out flaws.

I've set it up this way; if you shoot RAW then two of the four are redundant anyway and changing the brightness and drive mode is very incidental. However I select AF points all the time so the 4-way controller is now dedicated to that with the button above to occasional switch to default.

As I understand it Tony did not touch on the hyper program function and use of the green button. Is that right because that is quite an omission and would make this a more camera dedicated tutorial rather than a basic dslr course for someone who happens to have a K-1 in hand.

I use this green button almost all the time now on manual setting, and adjusting manually is much easier than fiddling about with exposure compensation. The only time I use an auto setting now is TAV when grabbing quick shots of activity or wildlife.

I watched it last night and I am impressed he spent so much time on it. He really likes some aspects of the K-1.

I am using a K3 and always forgetting I have exposure compensation on so the tip he has given me on using the memory menu page to turn it off was so simple, but I never thought of it.
