cheers, No 3 is exactly how i wanted it to turn out, with the forest in the background totally blurred, No 3 isn't really that good yeah, but i though it looked nice No2 is also how i imagined it, the cannon looks like its going to shoot the ship. But how do you mean "a little busy" ??

aah I get you, the aperture would have been quite small as i was facing the sun as you can see by the glare at the very top of the photo, i have another version but i dont think it's as good as that one

The third one is the most interesting, but probably also the easiest subject to make a decent looking photo out of.
The 2nd one I quite like, but it lacks a bit of punch. The light on the walls is a bit dull, it might be salvageable in PP. The converging verticals don't bother me at all. In fact if you straightened the verticals in this kind of 'looking up' shot it would look completely artificial. A minor crop is in order as well I think, to remove that bit of leaf at the top edge, and perhaps 5 of 10% off the right edge (but keep some of the foliage as a frame)
The first one I'm not sure about, the subject isn't really my thing so it's hard to make any useful comment. I don't like the sun and would crop that off entirely, also the wheel at the top doesn't add anything, it's gotta go . The idea of the cannon aiming at the ship is okay (perhaps slightly contrived, I'm in two minds on this).

No 3 has the most potential for mine, I agree with Gareth.
There is a bright area shining through the foliage that is a little distracting, and the LHS might benefit from a tighter crop.
I'm wondering what it would look like as a mono (but that's just me ).

#1 is my favourite. The lack of background blur isn't an issue. In fact I like it: the ship really adds context (however irrelevant, given the differing ages of it and the gun) and character to the shot.
