trophies

It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.
Seriously, my suggestion would be that photo clubs wanting to hand out trophies should organise for the winning image to be professionally printed and framed with a little engraved plate showing title, what competition it won, and the photographer's name.

I was hoping that there was somewhere that produced trophies applicable to photographers. There are plenty of cups, glass plaques and such that I can source locally.
I just wanted it to be something to encourage the Committee to pull their socks up and realise that they have a responsibility to produce a trophy.
There were seven cups awarded at the Annual Prizegiving on Wednesday and I simply received a hand shake, even though they knew from last year when I won that they could not find the relevant cup then and it was simply another handshake.
Just hoping someone can give me a direction.

I just need to find the darn thing. There is a site in the US that does a speciality for photography but it's a bit too tacky for my needs.
There must be somewhere but I cannot find it on the Net.
Most of my Clubs trophies are silver and I couldn't even begin to fathom how anyone could "misplace" one, or how a committee could'nt be bothered about it, I wonder what they'd say if the digital projector went missing.
Not so sure about a new trophy I think you need a new committee

As far as records go. Three years ago I had an up and down fight with the Committee because there was no Inventry of anything that the Club owned.
I suggested a Trophy Record book. All cups to be photographed and a separate page given to each with a year date, Winner, winners signature and a committe signature on its return.
Not difficult, you would say. Just this last month following another fight with the committee chairman has this now been done.
Yes! We know who had the cup. At least, I told the committee who had the cup. He claims he does not have it!!
The club is over sixty years old. Has had the same chairman for twenty years and the same President from almost its inception. It just has not moved with the times and only now is grasping that ther Rules for competitions need to be revised.
Apart from that it is a good club and a lot of friendly members.
Thanks for all your interest.
regards Thoramay.
It's the c ommittee I am aimi ng to wake up.

Might just offend the brand loyalty members.

Can anyone suggest a source of appropriate trophies for photographic achievements. I am inclined to embarrass the Committee by purchasing such a trophy.
