I have one of these which is superb and sounds like it might fit the bill. Depends on the lenses and how much extra equipment you're talking about.

I have a kata one very much like that one, might be same one, and it does have a nice large upper part for non camera stuff - sarnies, folded/ rolled up rain mac etc

I had a look at kata, very nice but getting a bit expensive when looking at back packs with a bit more space. Even so more economical than manfrotto bumblebee

Good DSLR backpacks are pricey, many ridiculously so. The Kata is the best I've tried. BTW it comes with a rain-cover.

I recently read this review of an F-Stop rucksack. It (or most other F-stop bags) sounds to be what you are looking for.
I use either my Tamrac Expedition 5, when taking a lot of gear, or a Tenba removable insert in my carry-on bag.
But then I tend to check a bag with clothes etc always.
