Touchdown!

I'm working on a new banner image for my web site and since there has been recent discussion on aviation photos I thought I'd post what I've got so far:




This is crop from this image:




I don't normally like cropping if I can avoid it, but this is for a banner and the subject lends itself to this kind of crop (and I couldn't do a lot else with it anyway!).

Details:
Shot from the viewing park at Manchester (Runway 05L in use) with a K-5, DA 17-70 f/4 at 70mm.

Comments & suggestions welcome.

I like it, do you need the plane more to the right for logo space??

I think it would look better if you would level it up, for the banner like one - to the runway level (CW rotation).

Good point, I haven't got as far as deciding how I'm going to display it yet. I had intended to run it across the top with logo/blurb underneath and think it has the right balance for that, something I need to think about.

Thanks, yes I did consider doing that, but I feel it gives is a bit more dynamic to the cropped image, although I will try it.

If you change the plane PIA (pain in the ass) to something better it will lok fantastic.

Hi Budu,

It could certainly be a bit more colourful (and not green), but thanks to Murphey's law, it was my best shot of the afternoon (it's one of the few times I've seen this runway used for landings too).

I plan to change the image regularly (with more of the stunning shots I'm going to take ).

I have now rotated it 1.4 degrees clockwise to level the runway (surprised it was such a small amount, the original looked serveral degrees out). I think it might be slightly too much but 1.3 degrees looked to little:




The crop is slightly different as a result.

And now cropped the right hand side to make space for a logo:

Sorry for filling this with so many similar images, but I'm seeing improvements all the time. This time with reduced height to thin the image out a bit (although I'm not sure this isn't changing the aspect ratio of the aircraft?):




I definitely prefer this to the original crop (even without a logo), thanks cabstar for the idea.
