I think Santa needs to test the lens a little so that it can be replaced in case of any malfunction in time for christmas; it needs testing a lot!

You definitely need to take full advantage of the guarantee and not waste a month. You also need to check the lens is OK so it could be returned if necessary during the short statutary period.

Two good reasons why you need the lens and Santa can perhaps pack up the box?

Best regards, John

Or at least give it a good workout and then ask Santa to carefully pack it back in its box on Christmas Eve :

You guys must have great wives buying Xmas presents like that. I'm lucky to get a pair of slippers. Takes me back to when I was a little boy just after the war, times were hard, no presents. At least I was glad I was a little boy and had something to play with on Xmas morning.

On another forum that I visit one wife bought her hubby a Canon f2.8 300mm, another bought a Canon 40D and another a Nikon D90.

Due to us getting a dog and me having to stay with it here over xmas (no dog passport for another 3 months) while my wife and son are back in the UK I will be lucky to get a card .. never mind a xmas dinner.

BAH, Humbug.

I got back here Tuesday after a few days in the UK and can honestly say its been the coldest and wettest I have known in the 18 months or so we have been here.
It actually seems colder here because we dont have central heating so im sitting on the settee with a quilt wrapped round me and the dog on my feet.
Suppose he is useful for something anyway.

Sounds like an invitation for us all to go and cheer the poor chap up. I'll bring mince pies - where is nearest low cost airport?

Bring enough mince pies and you will even pay for your flight .. they go for a fortune out here.

Last year the local "English" shop was charging the equivilent of £3 for a box of 6 mr Kipling pies.

Amazing the British, they move to Spain for sunshine and cheap living and then spend all their money on English food

Hi All,

Well the torture is over even though I only got about an hour in low light trying out my new lens. I'm impressed with the quality of this lens and feel it won'd be my last Limited! See example link
