Too light, Too dark ?

I had to print out a picture last night and it came out far too light and I put it down to the viewing angle of my laptop screen. Could someone with a desktop monitor kindly let me know if these are about right brightness wise.

Thanks.

They look good on my desktop monitor Mike. Definitely not too bright.

Great shots too: I really like the second one.

As an aside, I do find that the screen on my ThinkPad is hopeless for viewing angles, leading to difficulty in judging if a picture is correct. My desktop monitor (HP LP2475w) is fine in that regard.

Getting older and grumpier. Taking longer to decide which lens to use today.

OK here Mike, viewing on a calibrated (Heuy Pro) Dell 2209WA IPS monitor.

My Dell laptop (2003/4 vintage) is absolutely hopeless for both brightness and colour even after calibration (Heuy Pro).
Cheers

Cheers for that. My next spend needs to be a WR body, probably the K30 but after that I really need to invest in a better lens giving me a reach of more than 300. The 50-500 crops up regularly on here but would be out of my budget range. I might be able to stretch to something like the 120-400 which would be a major improvement for me. Can't believe that Pentax haven't brought their longer zoom out by now, they must be missing a fortune in lost sales to Sigma.

The 150-500mm OS comes up for sale on the forum and Ebay quite regularly ... from what I can see they are very much the same at the long end, you just pay more for the extra 50-150mm range on the bigger Sigma.

Don't get me started on Pentax and their lack of a zoom lens in the 100-400mm range, Canon, Nikon and Sony all have one so their is obviously a market. I would presume such a lens would be a hard sell for Pentax now though

They look bob on, on my Eizo Mike, nice turn and burn on the phoon too!
Miss Airshows they are all just too far away now for me, Rail Travel prices have made going down to and staying at Duxford, Kemble et al a no go nowadays...

Got the 4 day Bournemouth Air Show coming up end of next month, been the last 4 years and tbh it's all a bit repetitive now ... I know it's free and draws in the people but I would rather pay and get a few more of the big fighter jets in rather than the same old prop planes.

I remember the first time I went, had my new K10D and Sigma 50-500mm, was like a kid with a new toy

Going to try RIAT next year and possibly Farnborough.

RAIT is great but it's soo big! Being from Cumbria I don't do too well with crowds, plus there's no sheep!
I always liked smaller shows like the ones at Kemble and like Duxford Warbirds used to be when they had it the same weekend as RAIT...

Must admit I am the same with crowds (especially as I usually end up going to these things on my own) but unfortunately I like to see the big show aircraft so have to bite the bullet and make the effort.
