Sorry folks but I have been told off for mentioning another brand even though I did say that Pentax could jump on the band wagon So it looks like you can't compare makes any more against a Pentax oh bummer supose this will get deleted as well

Hm...that is a somwwhat weird approach Would love to know why? It's customary to have a brand free section regardless of specific starting platform. Unless it's some weird business arragment...

Its not a free world everywhere A thread thats only about a Hasselblad camera is sort of 'out of bounds' here! ('Out of bounds' .... that just came to me suddenly, I don't think I've used that term since high school!)

Now the other recent thread, with the impressive lineup of FF cameras and F2.8 zooms .... well, thats got 2 Pentax cameras and 2 lenses in it, so I'm guessing thats OK, it puts the Pentax models in a wider context (ie they're all big, and all expensive .... apart from the K3 / 50-135 combo )

i did say that pentax should be jumping on that bandwagon but that dont count

if we dont discuss what other companys are doing and what our opinion of it then it is a waste of time saying to pentax you want this this and this
like we should be making our point about third party lens why should we sit back and be looked down at by others

pu should be leading the way to get more out of pentax/ricoh in the uk and othe company ideas come from people discusing thing

Its been discussed a few times before, and I can see both viewpoints .... ie its good to compare and float ideas etc .... plus its good to have a Pentax only zone as there is very little Pentax related stuff elsewhere on the web. The powers that be here take the 2nd view on it.

Its got a bit more flexible lately, lets face it .... not that long ago 'Full Frame' was seen as 'irrelevant' to PU members. Although having checked the prices of those offerings on the other thread from Canon, Pentax and Nikon, it may well still be irrelevant to many of us

IIRC, we had this sort of "discussion" 2-3 yrs ago and that caused a lot of dissent from members and then "agro" from the people who run the forum - I'm very sad to see that the same type of thing (from the guys/gals who run the forum!) might be happening again (especially since there seems very little actual reason to object to comparisons between Pentax products and very high end/cost products from companies like H*****l***d or others, except, almost certainly, on a value for money basis - in which case Pentax would probably win ! )

"Probably" - that, unfortunately, is the mentality of some of those "in charge" (but I do hope not).

I think that this is a site for Pentax chat, images and sales and the sister site (https://www.ephotozine.com/) is geared up more for all brands. I don't own other brands so I can't comment on other brand only sites for other marks but I'm guessing they are solely for their brand as well, as they are also, like here, being a 'flagship' website for the brand.

In the past I would of argued this till the cows come home, hell I was even banned and removed and lets just say me and the management didn't see eye to eye but times change and I get the point, the above ^ is what this site is about and ePhotoZine is for all brands as a general photographic forum.

Sorry David, but this is just ....typical ! It is another example of the all too common bias against Pentax and the inflating of other brands in an unfair manner ..... I will have to insist that the you edit your post and put 'Pentax' in capital letters and repeat it 4 times, just like the others you have named
