to buy 100 mm M macro?

Hi everyone! I've found this whole site extremely helpfull.

Is the Pentax smc 100mm "M" macro worth getting used for 175 Canadian?-- That is about US$ 140.

Is the quality such that the buy would be good?

It is a rather confusing (?) era we're in regarding photography . Being relatively early in digital evolution still, i'm not quite sure how to proceed regarding lens purchases.
