Hi Zoe,

http://www.lensinc.net/freeuser.html

scroll down and you'll find the manual for the P30. You can download it in PDF format. You'll need Adobe Acrobat reader to read it if you don't already have it, and there is a link to that as well. That's also free.

I haven't used the P30 so can't answer the question, but there'll be someone around in a little while who can..

Cheers

This camera will work in a variety of different modes.

If you want to leave everything to the camera, set the lens aperture to A, and the shutter to Auto.

Leaving the aperture on A, you can dictate the shutter speed by rotating the shutter dial to the speed you want. The camera will then select the right aperture.

Leaving the shutter on Auto, you can dictate the aperture by turning the aperture ring to the aperture you want. 22 will give you great depth of field (everything will be in focus), and 1.7 (or the smallest number, depending on your lens) will make everything out of focus, except the subject. The camera will then select the right shutter speed.

Or you can select both aperture and speed yourself. In the viewfinder, two numbers will light up. The one that flashes shows the correct shutter speed for the chosen aperture, whilst the non-flashing number is the speed you have selected. Change either the aperture or the speed until the two numbers come together - which will be the right speed.

Good luck
