Shame about the branch across the face otherwise it would have been good.
C&C welcome.

Never mind the little branch, the shot is still really sharp and well framed. Unless they are very tame there not easy to capture like this. I like it as it is!

Delightful shot Stuey - I`m lucky - Cyril our tame squirrel knocks on the window to be hand fed so we get a bit blase sometimes.
Lovely sharp shot and the branch is not too much of a distraction - the tail is great and the colours nice and soft. Our Cyril seems to have much more reddish bits than yours - must be all the roasted peanuts in the shell !
Tony
PS hope the shooter shot themselves in the foot !!

Hello
I hope the air gun idiot shot him or herself as well
Having sat back and looked at this again I think that there are two branches in the way, one lower left and the other slightly higher and to the right - come to think of it they may have been almost as near to me as they were to the squirrel - problem was I only spotted this fella whilst gently pushing my way through tree's etc to reach a clearing
I hope Cyril continues to enjoy the peanuts
My parents have a tame black bird who eats as many raisins as they will give him he's probably one of the few birds that don't dissapear when I visit my parents house
Thank you for the comment.
Regards

Great picture of Cyril
It's not that I forgot earlier but the monitor in work is far to bright and amplifies noise in major way - its not a great platform from which to comment
For example in work the pic looks as though there is no detail in the front paws and the reflection in the eye in unrecognisable - it's so much better on my home pc
Cyril looks even cuter now

After a couple of years of not coming near another one within 7 days of the other
Not great quality but the 'pose' was ok, iso 500 ancient Tokina 300mm again.
This was taken from the old railway line between Ruabon and Llangollen this afternoon.
Cyrils relatives have clearly made it as far as Wales

C&C welcome.

I have been trying on and off over the last few years to get a resonable close up of a squirrel at or near to Ty Mawr Country park - at last I have one I am almost happy with
There are parks within say 30 miles where I can get to take close ups of the nice and friendly well fed squirrels but that did not seem like a challenge.
The squirrels at Ty Mawr are very shy, whilst crawling around in some grass this afternoon I found an air gun pellet, deformed and blood stained, this may explain why the squirrels don't hang around much, or any of the other wildlife such as rabbits and pheasants
Anyway peeps here is the pick of the bunch for me (from this afternoon), I was part way through a set of trees in a boggy area when I spotted this fella staring at me, probably wondering what was going on
Taken with my Tokina RMC 300mm f5.5 M42 lens that I seem to be using almost always at the moment.
C&C welcome
I know that there is a branch across the face but apart from a little raw/jpeg processing and a slight crop I have not messed about with the photo.
As always I promise not to sulk (much)
