Tilt/Shift lens

Good those who have always wished for a tilt/shift lens with a K Mount

If the Samyang 35mm and 85mm lenses are anything to go by, then this will be a fine lens indeed.

Superb ! If it is anywhere near as good as Samyang's 35/85 (and at a similar prince-point) then this is a winner and I'll sell my Sigma 10-20 and get this instead.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is a little more expensive but as long as it isn't as hugely expensive as the Canon 17mm TS I'll be saving up my pennies. I might even have to sell a lens or two.

Hm, I think I know my next purchase if it's affordable. Ditto what Womble said, this would be worth a bit of a lens offload for me.

I'm suprised there's not more "talk" about this, long overdue...a shame it's not by Pentax but looking forward to more details just the same

I'm collecting my brand new Samyang 14mm f2.8 tomorrow, my first 'proper' wide angle lens. I can promise a few Samyang rants here once I get it fired up on my K7, and a few shots as well.

I wouldn't expect Pentax to be looking at a TS lens themselves, not enough Pros shooting architecture on Pentax . But its a great first move into the area by an independant - who cares now who makes our lenses, so long as they fit on the camera and do the job well. (Of course, Samyang are selling this lens on for other fits as well).

I've seen the announcement for the Samyang tilt and shift. Although it's hard to tell by just looking at a picture of the lens, it is bound to be better than the Lensbaby tilt (no shift) lens and optics that I recently wasted money on. Still now that I've been off the fags and booze for four weeks I might be able to afford it. Although it is only available in 24mm. 35mm and perhaps 70mm would be great.

There are already longer options for TS lenses in other independent makes, it is the wide end we have been missing. If Samyang go on to produce a 17mm TS lens I'll be really happy!

Pentax would be wise to collaborate with samyang on a lens or two..
here is one argument against the "Fix it in post" mentality.... when you have to shoot both stills and video for a project (ie for an archetect ot real estate agent) then lenses like the tilt shift are valuable time savers... if priced right, i may buy this lens!

Thanks for the tip womble. You don't happen to know who makes or sells the longer TS lenses do you?

I know that it is technically possible to correct converging verticals in post processing but I have never really managed to make it work to my satisfaction. I'd much rather use a TS lens in the field than spend yet more time fiddling around on my laptop...

Arax make a 35mm and 80mm version, I think there are others too. Someone listed them on here recently, I'll see if I can find the post.
