I'm no good with flower names, so it's easier to name my shots after the place where they were taken .... in this case it was Cannizarro Park in Wimbledon. All early spring blooms and everything was looking very fresh

Pentax K7 & SMC F 35-70mm .....

Please feel free to name them for me !

First and last are fritillaries (snakes head). Lovely wee spring flowers.

#2 looks like a magnolia flower. Was it on a shrub?

Lovely contrast on #1 between the purple flower and OOF green background

Thanks both .. And thanks for the specimen ID Tim .... The pink one was shot from just above my head height, so I'm fairly sure it was on a sizable tree. ..... ?

Hi Nigel.

Nice work.

Especially for you I've posted a shot of some Snakes Head Fritillaries, today.

Best regards
Peter

Cannizaro used to be one of my old stomping grounds for images when we lived in Morden! Never saw the fritillaries though!
Where I have seen them I have never got a shot I am really happy with.

You've isolated your two nicely and captured a depth to their colour and texture.
