there are still rumours about Pentax Evil Cameras..
It still needs to be carried in the same way as a DSLR and Pentax DSLRs are so compact anyway we might as well stick with them.
The picture illustrates perfectly what I fine useless about these new cameras...you have a very compact body with fiddly and easily nudged controls onto which you place a whopping big lens.

I was playing with a GF2 and a 20mm f1.7 lens and it felt as heavy as my K10D and was much harder to hold steady as it had no grip!
I'd rather stick a DA21 on a Pentax DSLR.
I think I'd rather pickup a used smaller "proper" Pentax the Kx or Kr so that I could share my lenses!
That said I'm finding my K20D very compact with the DA 40mm attached, although sadly I'm now lusting after a DA21 and DA15 to go with it
No, I would like an NEX style mirrorless camera from Pentax, and i'm sure they can do a better job with the k-mount adapter. Although a dslr-style mirrorless optimised for liveview and video makes sense too.
A c-mount camera is a bizarre idea but we'll see!
make the body cylindrical shaped, slightly wider than the k-mount, with a kmount on one end and an eyecup for the evf on the other and you'd hold it like a spotting scope.... literally, a little smaller than a soda pop can.... maybe a flip out lcd on the side of the "Can"... aps-c sensor and dedicated video button, otherwise the same internals as the k-5. and weather seal it.
so your camera body would be about the same size as your 10-17mm fisheye... with an oversized eyecup on one end and a k-mount on the other.
It's been done Don and was a total flop. Was it Chinon?
Remember the Apple newton? and compare it to the Ipod touch... the first try flopped the second one is a success, blending the touch with the cell phone and it hits a home run...
I'm just thinking the idea hits a home run for three reasons... photos, video, and ergonomics... right handed, left handed (if the photo and video buttons are on top), fits in a lens case or in any camera bag lens compartment... perfect for an evil class cam I think.
That type of camera seems to have a great future.......Not!
Pentax K-1 + K-5 and some other stuff

every 6 months I hate to think how long they will
carry spare parts for
Pentax K-1 + K-5 and some other stuff
Algi
What spares will there be for these now, and they were not cheap.

but what about an aps-c sized sensor?
here is the competition:
Of course the Pentax kx beats them all: link
here is what a sony looks like with a pentax 21mm pancake lens:
so using a kmount adaptor on a fugly body does not exactly make for a compact system..
I for one am glad I went with a kr, but will wait and watch to see if Pentax releases a kx/kr spec'd camera with smaller dimensions and either an evf or pelicile/fixed mirror to compete.
A "Me to" version of the nx or nex would hardly be worth buying if it means another lens mount!
