When Lilly replayed to me “I am beginning to like your country very much from what I have seen” and also when Chris said “not to mention the views of your beautiful country you give us…”, I began (or begun?) to think if all this was really true.
After thinking a bit more in this disquieting question I took my K10D and went around my neighborhood and got these images…

Obviously you can see what you want to see, and I am sure that you can find all over the world the two faces of the coin. Is the photographer decision which one to show… What a responsibility!
What do you think about?
I think you'd find the same thing in most countries. We all make selections - what pictures we take and show - and you've probably seen more "pretty UK countryside" pictures than "run-down UK inner city" shots. When Lilly replayed to me “I am beginning to like your country very much from what I have seen” and also when Chris said “not to mention the views of your beautiful country you give us…”, I began (or begun?) to think if all this was really true.

It did occur to me after I posted, that perhaps I should have said:
"not to mention the beautiful views of your country you give us…", which is not quite the same.
Everywhere looks better from the air though.

First of all - I really love these shots - from a technical point of view. I believe you really caught the mood....Very good.
I agree - When I watch tv-commercials/brochures from Copenhagen I start to think about the ghetto just 1 mile form my house and so.
Those editors shows real talent in advertising
Really nice shots!

Dirk, you town is still much tidier than mine. I'm slowly building up a 'rubbish' portfolio, showing litter and other things in our countryside.
Please call me aj,

Lovely photo's yet again Dirk.. I do know what you mean about two sides to every coin, I have a friend Lissandro arrondo who lives in Argentina and know from him that things arent always as they seem.
I can in particular remember sending him some guitar parts for his beloved fender stratocaster that only cost me around £10 here but where almost impossible for him to get there.

Don´t believe in touristic brochures and in emotive photographers…
Many times I have seen touristic brochures of Tucumán, and it always made me think in how skilled and talented the photographer and editors were.
When Lilly replayed to me “I am beginning to like your country very much from what I have seen” and also when Chris said “not to mention the views of your beautiful country you give us…”, I began (or begun?) to think if all this was really true.
