I agree, the horizon needs attention.
Has the image been cropped on the right at all?
And this is beyond the photographers control of course; but I find those star trails a bit weird, like theres no consistency, they seem to be all over the place, even allowing for the distortion of the lens, and what about that spot in the centre? No doubt someone who is into lens mechanics will be along to explain.

The star trails seem OK to me, but i hadn't noticed the spot in the middle. The only star in the Northern hemisphere that doesn't appear to move in relation to the others is the Pole Star. Could it be that?

Can't be the Pole Star. The star trails would arc around it. Photo must be taken towards the south.

For a satellite to show up that large on a photo it would need to be huge - I mean humongous! Most geostationary sats are small, certainly not the size of the ISS which is what it would need to be to show up that big I would think.
If I remember I'll ask the Bill Payer - he used to work on satellites.
Edit. Idiot that I am - a geostationary orbit is above the equator, so unless the Solway has moved south without us noticing it won't be a geostationary satellite

The spot in the middle could easily be a planet which would appear stationary (compared to the stars) - Venus is known as both the morning and evening star, Jupiter, Mars and Saturn are also visible.
Unfortunately EXIF has been removed so I couldn't put the date and time into one of my astronomy programmes to check

My wfe said she thourght it looked like a planet, but I myself think the stars are in consistency placed and look added to the sky..
