The seventh EDIT(and subsequent) Oshkosh pics.

Sorry but, do you really need a new thread for almost each picture? I think it would be better to keep the discussion in one place personally...

I was just about to post a very similar comment.Sorry but, do you really need a new thread for almost each picture? I think it would be better to keep the discussion in one place personally...
Just put the pics up on a gallery somewhere.
I fear death by a thousand Oshkoshs.

It is just seen as more polite and organised to keep all of one topic under one topic. In other forums the threads would have been merged ASAP and you would have had a finger wagging in your direction.
I really like a few of these pictures but it seems like you are going a little overboard in self promotion with one thread per picture.
Don't take offence, just trying to keep some order and not have to open seven threads for what is essentially the same topic.

Self promotion is the last thing on my mind.
I was unaware of these unspoken guidelines since this is the only forum I've ever contributed to. If someone doesn't have a clue about "forum organisation" (me), then they must be helped out at least once. Now I know.
Can we merge the threads so that it's all in one place? And I will continue posting images here then.
I will also fix my misquote. Apologies for that. It's early and I have just had my first coffee of the day: a glorious (angels singing) cup of French Roast.

Don't worry, moderation in these forums is rarely needed and there's a fair amount of leeway.
Of course, you may never see the things that are removed unless you are very quick...
By all means share your images, but if you want to post one a day why not also think about the sister site to this one www.ephotozine.com which has a gallery geared up to just that purpose.

There's some good pics here. They deserve a gallery where they can be viewed together.

I'm uploading to PentaxForums as I complete an image I wish to display on the forum. I'm not proficient enough to process fifty images in a day and furnish a gallery (and neither is my computer), and I also wouldn't know where to do that. I'll probably get bored and lose interest if I tackle a big task like that. I'll be sure to add any future images to this thread, and won't start new threads for new images.

1/500 instead of 1/1500 would have showed off the prop better, but otherwise superb.North American P-51D Mustang: One of the seventeen (now sixteen after the crash) present.

They sure give these things a polish, don't they.
Presumably he did some low passes with the gear up, would be good if you have one like this but clean?

Cracking shot , Where were you standing too get it from such a side on perspective. It must have been only a few feet off the ground or you were in another aircraft :

Love that Mustang! And I like the capture with the gear still on the way up gives it a bit more interest than a standard "fly-by" shot.

Thanks to all for your comments including "cracking shot" and "getting a little tired of the subject".
George: I agree that being creative and artistic when a plane flies past you is down to blind luck. When it's on the ground you can at least walk around, crouch or climb something, and get a better angle. You won't find many aviation photos where the photographer is commended for the lighting, since it's largely down to mother nature. Essentially, you have to recognize the potential, anticipate the shot, and put it all together very quickly to come up with something good.
I really wish I could have flown in to the show in a light aircraft (or WWII Fighter), but I went in with United Airlines and car rental...
Thanks ChrisA for your comments. I agree 100%. You also have some experience with aviation photography I see. Could the exposures have been better? I'll PM you with links to a couple more I intend uploading to PentaxForums.
lenscape: I'm not so sure the Piper Cub was designed to "kill, maim and destroy".
And I'll never be happy as long as people verbalise that they wish my threads would 'die'... I could point out a few worse.
