The scam - 600mm A*

Just to follow up on the topic we had about the 600mm lens. I asked the high bidder about the lens. This was his reply.

You mean this lens: smc PENTAX A Star 600mm f5.6 ED IF ?
Yes it looks it is scam. I've asked for additional confirmation - picture of lens serial number and small sheet of paper with my name.
I did't received any replay till now

I'm pleased that I didn't enter a bid on this one - as I was about to.

If you really want one, you can order it new from Japan for about £4000 plus shipping plus import duty etc.

If a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is.

To be honest, I can't see the fascination with some of this very fast long lenses. If you are a pro covering sports events or doing wildlife like Heather Angel etc, OK but for normal use, you would need to be on a fitness program to use it without getting a hernia.
