Wanting to get people to give me estimates of what a brand new pentax *ist DL with a pentax smc da 18-55mm lense and about a 2gb card will cost? Ill stick a poll on the end just to see what happens, thanks

If you're looking for one, there's refurbished ones from SRS Microsystems - £249 (with lens +£70). That's still with a full 12 month warranty

A 2gig card is worth next to nothing. Sandisk Extreme III cards are £17.90 from www.picstop.co.uk

We had a good meeting - the * lenses were placed on my Pentax display in the shop window for a couple of hours and created a certain amount of interest! I have a large quantity of refurbished product coming in (mainly compacts) but also have secured some K100's which will be on the website as soon as they come through the door (should be tomorrow)

Not much new info apart from the * lenses are due late May - apparently hitting Europe for distribution on the 20th May so we can expect them 4 to 5 days later. As I have said on the lens thread, I had a good play with the new optics and they are very nice - the build quality is superb and the focussing speed was very quick and quiet on the K10D. It was also good on the K100D, albeit slightly louder in terms of focus noise.

There is going to be a new firmware soon version 1.12 (imaginative with the names!) Its in beta testing and helps with SDM

The 60-250 still looks to be this year, probably December - the 645D is coming along nicely - price TBC - but is looking to be on schedule and a real winner!! (Yes, I know I'm biased!)

Thanks for the update. I'm very pleased about the 645D, though I won't be buying it myself. It will, if all goes well, go a long way to improving Pentax's credibility in the professional marketplace, and that can't be a bad thing.

Do you expect good supplies of the * lenses?

Perfect - just in time for my birthday... as if I needed an excuse!

I think it will be as before with the K10D - limited early stocks as there is a huge worldwide demand for these lenses...
