The One Show

Did anybody saa last night's(4/10/12) edition of "The One Show"?

They had a piece obout aerial photography, and the most important piece of equipment, apart from the helicopter, was the image stabiliser mounted to the bottom of the camera. They showed two photos of the junction of the M23 and M25. One with the stabiliser and one without. The difference was very noticeable. Both cameras were Nikons and I don't know if the cameras had AS built in.

Yes, I saw it and was also intrigued by the image stabiliser device. I suspect it is more advanced / capable than in-lens stabilisation because he said it had two gyroscopes inside. I noted he only used it when the light was failing and I guess shutter speeds and/or lens OS weren't able to freeze the motion and vibrations from the helicoppter

They got some great pictures I thought. The helicopter looked comfy but not sure I'd even be able to afford buzzing around in a microlight to get pictures like that but would love to try.

My colleague is into aerial photography (aircraft to aircraft) and has mentioned this stabilizer to me. I'll see if I can get more information on it.

That looks it could be the same as was used but difficult to tell from the photograph.
