amateur (really bad one) photographer who has non dig SLR + 3 lenses, wants a small dig camera for those social + other occasions when he can't be a**ed to carry loads of gear......

i would like a 5 meg camera which has the equivilent of 300mm zoom, loads of manual settings and is lighter than a feather and smaller than a box of matches.

the 3 that i have found so far are:-
Pentax Optio S5i
Pentax Optio SV
Casio Exilim EX-Z55

extra question - could i get lens attachments with any of these to improve the zoom

which would you chose and why? - or is there one out there i have missed!

please help

We bought the S5i because the consensus seemed to be that it offered better picture quality. I can confirm that is is indeed very good, capable of making satisfactory A3 prints.

If I was looking for an even longer zoom, I wouldn't be expecting to find it in this type of camera. Something somewhat bigger, I think.
Best regards, John
