Focusing Screen

I've been trying to get hold of a new screen for my LX. I'm sure someone on this site recommended the Beattie SC69 and that Camera Direct were the supplier to use, but every time I ring them they are "getting them in next week". Frankly, I'm feeling fobbed off.

Anyone know of another supplier?

Thanks Tony; Morco do do them, but at 88 quid!?! I'm sure Camera Direct were quoting about 30 - or was I imagining things?

That's quite a difference - I'll make a note of Camera Direct. I have bought quite a bit of stuff from Morco over the last couple of years and they are reliable - but a price difference like that could easily tempt me .

The SC69 is a Pentax screen and I got mine from Camera Direct and it was about £30. It is as good as the Beattie screen and somewhat cheaper. I suspect the one from Morco is a Beattie screen and the price would seem about right for that. The screen does make a difference but I wouldn't pay nearly £90 for one.

Thanks Kim; thinking about it, you're right - the SC69 isn't a Beattie screen. Must have got my wires crossed there.

Might give Camera Direct another go - anyone know their website address?

Can someone tell me if these SC69 bright screens are much brighter than the originals? I don't want to pay Beattie prices, but £30 for a bright Pentax would be ok if they're much of an improvement.

I have one of the screens and I certainly think it is a huge improvement and worth every penny. I went straight back and bought another for my second LX.
