You've obviously missed all the recent excitement on this one.
It's because you're not a PU subscriber (or if you are, you haven't linked your subscription ID to your forum one).

Good question. Now that I've done it, the link is gone. And I can't remember offhand exactly where it was. It wasn't hard to find - it didn't take me long to trip over it.Chris A : How DO you link the Pentax User ID to the Forum then? My membership expires at the end of the month. I could let it lapse and get back to you, but I suspect it'll be quicker to have a bit of a poke about and find it for yourself.

Edit: check out My settings | Personal Info. There's an 'actions' section that might be the thing. It says 'Update My Subscription Details' for me, but it may be different if the app doesn't know you're a subscriber.
Or raise a report - I'm sure the PUT will help.

The one a day feature is to make sure that everyone gets a fair shot at exposure in the gallery. As it gains more popularity, this will soon be more apparent why the restriction is there.
You can link your subscription by going to your portfolio and clicking on Link Subscription and following the instructions.

If this were true, it would be one a day for everyone. The one a day feature is to make sure that everyone gets a fair shot at exposure in the gallery. As it gains more popularity, this will soon be more apparent why the restriction is there.
Otherwise, you should be up-front about giving mag subscribers more exposure in the gallery than non-subscribers.
I don't have a particular gripe about whatever the policy is - that's your call, but I think you should be straight about what it is.

Ahh... the former, I did subscribe but I didn't really like the magazine much I'm afraid

I must admit, I usually find the articles a bit lightweight, especially the reviews. I originally signed up for the 20% off Pentax maintenance, but touch wood I haven't needed it so far.

More weasel words (like the law you were too busy to remember). The one a day feature is to make sure that everyone gets a fair shot at exposure in the gallery.
How does everyone get a "fair shot" when there are two different sets of rules?
If you actually wanted EVERYBODY to have a "fair shot" (without overloading the gallery) you could place a limit on the total number of pictures posted. The present one-a-day system is INTENSELY irritating.
I used to be a subscriber, but certainly won't consider re-subscribing while this silly rule is in place. If you want to prevent non-subscribers from using the gallery, fair enough, but imposing petty restrictions as a way to blackmail people into taking out subscriptions is counter-productive.
I'm afraid this forum is going downhill. You keep adding new "features" (like the nipple filter) while old bugs remain unfixed (sign-in, passwords, competitions) and useful old features (like going straight to the latest unread post) have yet to be re-implemented.
And the frequent visits of the "boss" have led to the moderators, unnecessarily, taking a tougher line than they used to.
If you want to make some money out of the site (a perfectly reasonable thing to do) I suggest you sort out the pricing in the shop, which is absurd. Presently you have a captive audience, and you throw it away.
In your shoes I would do a deal with SRS whereby they handle all the orders and pay you a commission. Then everybody would be happy. SRS would have more business, and you could just sit back and watch the money roll in.
I suspect the magazine doesn't make much/any money. Quarterly rags seldom do - their infrequency doesn't interest advertisers. The sensible thing to do would be to kill it as a paper product, and place the content online. Reasonably objective advertorials commssioned to coincide with product launches would be much more appealing to marketing departments.

I too have cancelled my magazine subscription in response to the changes made and the attitude of certain PU individuals.

Not mine. I got the email after answering - you don't get a new email for the post you just made - well, you shouldn't. I got the email just before I posted my second reply.
There are so many things that are still broken or missing, I've given up with it TBH.

You dont get an email if someone leaves a comment about one of your gallery pictures. I have to say I preferred things the way they were before. George mentioned 'the boss' - more Big Brother (in the original Orwellian sense) to my mind.

Indeed. Things were ticking along nicely without any issues. Ah well. Big Brother - I call it arrogance.
