Cog, likely from a steam powered traction engine, hanging on a cane-grass shed wall. Near Hay, NSW.

I love the dcontrasting materials and the careful framing. Very impressive. I didn't realise there were any old things in Australia! Except for Bob Hawke, obviously.

Thanks for your comments - this might also be in line for a re-shoot, when I can get up that way next. This is also 400 k's away, so I'll have to figure out a way to make it worthwhile.

They may be old Andrew, but nothing like the history you folks have over there. What a paradise that must be, to live in the middle of it all.

And that's just the average age of PU members in the UK.
Seriously I enjoy this type of picture and I think it often works better in black and white. Keep up the good work.

Thanks again David, and FWIW I agree. It often does work better in black and white.

Perhaps some of the things which we endeavour to capture come from a certain era, where black and white images contextualise the subjects in a way that is consistent with those times.
Then again, that might be just so much waffle too!
