I wouldn't buy one but it certainly didn't look as bad as the images on the net, in fact it looked cute and needed a blonde attached.
But she wouldn't buy it either!

My favourite ME Super is black with some nice brassing in places. Has the feel of a well worn old friend. The ES is black (I think they all were) but has almost no brassing at all. Not sure I go for the "titanium" K20D but surely it would be possible to have some tasteful alternative colours to black?

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Or even a coloured trim like the K-m has. surely it would be possible to have some tasteful alternative colours to black?
Personally I liked the brown K10 limited.

This isn't something to do with silver lenses is it? [quote:3496ace15f="hefty1"]I like it in silver! I wasn't going to buy a K20D but if they bring that out I may just change my mind
I'd like to see a return to proper metal bodies, when I compare the size of a modern DSLR to an MX it makes me wonder just what is taking up all that space?
After all my E50 has several shooting modes, 7meg sensor batteries and a screen, but it's a fraction of the size of my K110d.
Maybe the K-m is going the right way for size.[/quote]it is our beloved K mount which sets the minimum thickness for a DSLR as Matt suggested. Personally I'd rather it be a bit on the bulky side and have a K mount than Auto 110 sized and loose the backward compatibility.
The ones which amaze me are the 4/3rds cameras. They ditched their old mount and therefore had more or less free reign to make the new system dinky, even went to a piddly little 2x sensor and yet their cameras are no smaller than a DL (at least not significantly).
you don't have to be mad to post here
but it does help

Why? have you got onePersonally I liked the brown K10 limited.
I looked at one but couldn't afford it, when the money was in place it went on a K200d, sort of K10d with a few changes.

When we bought it, it was priced exactly the same as buying a K10D and grip seperately, so it was an easy decision to get a Limited Edition for no extra cost!
It's interesting that the K10D Limited had a production run of 5000, and the new silver K20D Limited only has a run of 1000. If we do get some over here and the price is right, we may add one of these to the arsenal as well!

Mongoose,....the new 'hybrid' four thirds cameras without mirror are quite a bit smaller than the APS/FF DSLR's, and set to get smaller yet. Although the sensor is a little smaller than APS they are currently at 12 mil pixels in a £460 camera and the image quality is the same as for k20,..ie, better than most.
The real value of this 'micro four thirds' is that it will hopefully cause the others including pentax to start thinking outside the box and away from the black plastic blob which started with the Canon T90 in 1974(?)
There is already evidence that the others are lifting their heads,..Samsung has already announced a 'hybrid' system using APS sensor.
This is where a proven innovator like pentax could really do some business if they only got their pencils out. A pentax hybrid of nifty design with an intelligent adaptor giving full 'K' mount handshake could really bring things away from the T90 and into the new millenium,...especially with a square sensor.

Car manufacturers do it all the time, don't have the cash to invest in a new model, so we'll put some new headlights on, tweak this, tweak that.
Its a K20 D whatever the colour and it is being left behind as far as development goes.

How much will it cost Pentax if you can chose your own clolour combo's.
Some shoe makers already have that option and Pentax can charge extra for it.
What do you think of a grip tailor-made to your hands, that's worth some extra cost
They special grip for the K20D and the K10D was very fine to hold, hopefully they will have also that option for the new models.

Once again the Panasonic micro 4/3 is ahead of the pack with three colour options incuding black,...ok, they are'nt exactly attractive colours but at least Panny is thinking about it.
Anvh....the grips were good but very expensive for what are in effect just plastic boxes. If the sensor was square there would be no need to flip the camera over for vertical format.
I does seem ludicrous to me that with all of this technolgy one still has to physically turn these cameras despite all the claims for ergonomic design. We have not needed to do that with medium format for 80 years. Surely it's time to move DSLR's on from 35mm, or more accurately, the Canon T90 of nearly 40 years ago.
